Summoners are a Portsmouth-based alternative rock band backed by BBC Introducing, who described them as “truly a once in a generation new rock band that are destined for a bright and stratospheric future.”
Blending dark dynamics, powerful melodic hooks and inventive songwriting, the band sit in the modern alternative rock space alongside artists such as Tigercub and Queens of the Stone Age while drawing influence from the heavier edge of bands like Nine Inch Nails and Black Sabbath. Their music explores themes of mental health, emotional conflict and the anxieties of modern life, delivered with a raw intensity that balances intimate vulnerability with explosive impact.
Summoners built rapid momentum through a prolific and critically acclaimed release run in 2025, releasing six singles and their debut EP No Control within a six month period. That run saw the band surpass 100,000 streams in under a year, receive seven BBC Introducing plays and features, and gain international radio rotation with nearly 1,000 spins and over 50 playlist adds on stations such as Amazing Radio, alongside features from Total Rock and wider press coverage.
Praised for their distinctive identity, Phase B Records described the band as “too weird for the mainstream, too accessible for the purists, and weaponising that tension.” Louder Than War added: “Rock music is, if this is the measure, in excellent health… watch them go stratospheric.”
Live, Summoners have developed a reputation for intense, high impact performances that convert new audiences quickly. Their rise from support slots to headline shows culminated in a BBC Introducing backed sold out EP launch show, cementing their status as one of the most exciting emerging rock acts on the South Coast.
Now recording new material, the band enter 2026 fulfilling early “next big thing” predictions from rock tastemakers. Positioning themselves for the next stage of growth and preparing their next wave of releases, Summoners are taking the next step toward bigger stages, landmark festival appearances and future partnerships.
